Introduction

The CAPULANA BAY Eco-Village & Tribe incorporates permaculture design,

sustainable food systems, holistic healthcare, compassionate communication,

contemplative education, family nourishment,

and integral business ethics to fulfil this vision.

The CAPULANA BAY Eco-Village is a cooperatively owned eco-village

that focuses on cultivating a holistic culture of well being

to nurture one’s self, their community, and environment.

The land is collectively owned through a legal Panamanian entity known as:

The CAPULANA BAY Tribal Land Trust (CBTLT).

The CAPULANA BAY Eco-Village Tribe is comprised of:

The Shore Dweller Clan (permanent resident members),

The Wave-Dweller Clan (seasonal resident members) and

The Driftwood Clan (tourists, private guests, work trade/staff and volunteers).

The CAPULANA BAY Eco-Village model of community honours autonomy

while offering opportunities for co-creation and resource sharing

in adherence to the community living agreements.

The Tribe is unified by its vision, key ethics, shared focus

on establishing and maintaining ecological systems, as well as,

cultivating an internal economy, through The Capulana Bay Eco-Village Tribe.

These 3 key ethics are:

Earth care, People care and Fair share

We, the members of The CAPULANA BAY Eco-Village Tribe,

dedicate ourselves to each other’s long-term health and well-being.

We honour and work in harmony with the land we own and steward.

We commit to nurturing our connection with each other

and with the people of the bioregion in which we live.

We encourage cooperative endeavours and

the building of loving relationships.

We value sustainable practices,

and consider future generations in all our choices.

We commit to creating a child-friendly environment

and holistic childrearing.

We embrace processes that work, to bring us into unity,

while respecting each person’s autonomy.

We aim for egalitarian relationships by practicing consensus decision-making.

We aim to bring awareness to the various roles we play

with regard to gender, economic class, ethnicity, sexual orientation, and age.

We aspire to shift out of oppressor and oppressed roles

moving toward mutual empowerment.
