The "Shore-Dweller Clan”
Our Permanently Resident Community

The Shore-Dweller Clan is comprised of those Tribe Members who have opted to reside permanently
on the island at THE CAPULANA BAY ECO-VILLAGE, either in their own personally built residences
or in rental units owned by THE TRIBE AT CAPULANA BAY.
All structures are expected to use ecologically responsible building practices and all
house plans must be approved by The Circle of Stones for Construction & Development
before construction begins
People wishing to become members of the Shore-Dweller Clan are required to undergo a 90-day
trial period before they are able to be considered for Shore-Dweller Clan status.
Furthermore, those who are in this 3-month trial period are expected to participate
in community life, through attending weekly meetings and community dinners.
Participation in events, projects, and activities is strongly encouraged, since it plays
a significant role in the application process.
Upon completion of the 90 days, The Keepers of The Conch will hold consensus and
if in agreement, the potential members will be authorised to join the Shore-Dweller Clan.
Upon payment of the prescribed Shore-Dweller Clan membership fee they will be legally
appointed to the board of directors of THE CAPULANA BAY ECO-VILLAGE & TRIBE.
If after 90 days, there is not a clear applicant acceptance, or dismissal, from
The Keepers of The Conch, an additional 30 days may be required, to further evaluate
any concerns that may have arisen.
The new Shore-Dweller Clan member may then submit a house plan for approval by
The Circle of Stones for Construction & Development, or continue renting,
at a 50% discounted rate, from The CAPULANA BAY Eco-Village Tribe.
The cost of Shore-Dweller Clan membership may be re-evaluated annually by The Keepers of The Conch, and may change depending on the infrastructural value of The CAPULANA BAY Eco-Village property.
